Mike Mote

Mike's 1934 Deluxe 5 Window Coupe at an early NVRG Car Show Mike's Coupe as it appeared in the 2014 NVRG calendar

Mike Mote, married father of three grown children and a yellow Labrador retriever. Iím retired from the marketing department of Shell Oil Company. I have loved old cars especially Fords since high school. My first car, a 1937 Ford 2dr sedan was purchased in 1958 for $120. Other Fords followed: '47 coupe, '50 Mercury convertible, '36 convertible coupe to my present 1934 five window coupe. I purchased this car in 1999. It had been previously restored and was given away in 1994 by The Big Bear Grocery Store chain as a 60th anniversary prize to an 80 year old woman from Elkview, West Virginia. The car is pretty much the way I got it except for a Mitchell overdrive that was added in 2000. Iím also restoring a 1931 Chrysler CM convertible coupe. Below is a list of other antique cars I have owned during the last thirty years: 1937 LaSalle coupe, 1930 Chrysler coupe, 1935 Chrysler coupe, 1935 Terraplane 4 door, 1937 Desoto convertible, 1939 Buick convertible.
