This is my first flathead Ford V-8. Mr. Stewart did a cosmetic restoration in 1978. Took it down to bare metal, repaired panels, and repainted. All bright work got the same attention. When I took over, I rebuilt the transmission, steering box, and did a complete overhaul of the brake system. It's got 220,000 miles under its belt and still going strong.
Bob and Joan Stewart, the original owners. True V-8er's who maintained and drove the '46 every day for 54 years.
This is a 1947 American Bantam trailer. Purchased along with the '46 Tudor from the Ford dealer on February 17, 1947. It came into my possession with the '46. A couple of Mr. Stewart's Air Force buddies built the box out of aircraft aluminum and attached it to the trailer. Look closely and you can see the generous amount of car parts Mr. Stewart was kind enough to include with the car and trailer.
My boys, Eli (oldest) and Nate (youngest) attend a local car show with me. The next generation of V-8 fans get an early start.
